Product Description

This workshop is centered on repairing personal worn and torn denim garments, not samples.

Using sashiko and boro techniques, participants will learn how to assess wear, choose appropriate repair strategies, and reinforce high-stress areas in woven fabrics such as denim. The emphasis is on how to decide what kind of repair a garment needs—not just how to stitch.

Sashiko patterns are used as functional tools for strength and stabilization, while boro patching offers opportunities for visible repair, customization, and storytelling. Optional advanced stitch patterns will be demonstrated for experienced stitchers.

Participants must bring a denim or similar woven garment in need of repair. Prior sashiko experience is recommended but not required.

This class is suitable for beginners and returning stitchers alike.
