This week I finished a couple of quick quilt tops for donation.  I used jelly roll strips that I had from a guild fabric exchange and tried the jelly roll challenge quilt.  It is quick and easy to make to make so a perfect choice for a last minute gift or a donation.  I made mine out of a varied scrap strips but you could just as easily use a theme or collection for a theme.

Here is one of mine.  I think the colours are fun and suitable for just about anyone.

Making donations

There are many places that welcome donations of quilts or pillowcases. Contact local organizations to ask about their specific needs and immediate requirements or watch for sewing days where you can join others and share your talent. In Nova Scotia, for example, Atlantic Fabrics has annual Share the Warmth day in their stores – and they will collect donations of fabric, quilt tops or finished quilts for those projects.
