Intro to Sashiko & Visible Mending
Learn practical hand-stitching techniques you can use again and again.
This introductory class introduces Japanese sashiko stitching with a brief history and introduction of four foundational stitch patterns. Sashiko stitching was traditionally used to repair, reinforce decorate clothes. In recent years, it has become a popular as a method of visible mending that creates beauty while extending the life of your garments. Participants learn simple stitches through hands-on practice, creating a sampler, which you can save as a single piece or cut to use as patches.
